Councilor Marzan Resigned
Following Kgd. Marzan's resignation, the city council, on motion of Councilor Edwin Piano, unanimously approved RESOLUTION NO. 2008 – R-003 – A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINMENT OF MS. MAREY BETH D. MARZAN AS CITY GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT HEAD II, SG 26 UNDER THE CITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (CPDO).

Fiesta Grand Parade
Hindi naging hadlang ang maulan na panahon sa kasiyahan ng pagdiriwang ng kapistahan ng lungsod. Makulay at mahabang parada ang nagmarcha mula sa Ramon Magsaysay (RM) Drive patungong Rizal Triangle na kinatampukan ng iba’t ibang personalidad.
Pinangunahan ni Mayor Bong Gordon at Vice Governor Anne Gordon ang naturang parada kasama ang mga city councilors, mga opisyal at empleyado ng city government. Ilang marching bands din ang inimbitahan upang lalong sumigla ang parada.
Tinilian naman ng mga manonood ang mga artista mula sa Pinoy Big Brother na kasama ring nakiparada at nakisaya sa kapistahan ng lungsod. Tahasan namang ipinakita ng mga OlongapeƱo ang kagalakan sa pakikilahok ng kanilang dating mayor na ngayon ay senador Richard Gordon.
Hindi rin nagpahuli ang City Fiesta Queen na si Michelle Grace Antonio ng Brgy. West Tapinac at ang kanyang royal court na agaw-eksena sa magarbo nilang mga kasuotan. Kanya-kanya pang gimik sa agaw-pansin na costume ang mga socio-civic organizations sa lungsod, business groups, Non Government Organizations, mga barangay officials at ilang locators at investors mula sa Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Nagsilbing ‘marshalls’ sa naturang parada sina PSSupt. Abelardo Villacorta ng Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO), Angie Layug ng Disaster Management Office (DMO), Col. Jose Aquino ng Office of Traffic Management and Public Safety (OTMPS) at Engr. Louie Lopez ng Public Utilities Department (PUD) na tumulong upang mapanatili ang kaayusan ng pagdiriwang.
Ang taunang city fiesta grand parade ay tradisyon na ng Olongapo City tuwing sasapit ang kapistahan ng lungsod na nagbibigay kasiyahan sa bawat OlongapeƱo gayundin sa mga turistang nakakasaksi nito.
